Pfft...

Filthy.
Food quality was par some years ago, now, dirtiest place in the Borough. Pizza tastes like oven hasn’t been scraped in years. hoagies are either soggy, or burnt. meats for sandwiches and dinners are all processed jello imitation meats. Pasta to go is swimming in dirty water it was cooked in… I’m glutting for punishment eating here, but I’m optimistic thinking one day it might be what it was years ago.

Pasta & pizza

like eating wet paper. dont dare order toppings, they come from a can. nothing fresh here. even the cheeses are imitation.
hot sandwiches fillings heated in water, microwaved left over canned mashed potato, instant gravy w/ to much water added. Pasta, water logged …

GOOD FOOD

My Aunt was best friends with Gina Maietta when they were in High School and after. As a kid, we would wake up at my grams house on the weekends to Maietta’s pizza in the fridge. That was the best time. We would have the pizza for breakfast with Pepsi…..

Still eating the Pizza today. In fact just ordered some for dinner tonight.

The place is a little rough on the inside, the neighborhood is not that great being Mt Oliver but the food has always remained great.

Maietta's ~ best pizza in Pittsburgh

As a former New Yorker, I’m very picky about my pie. Pretty much nothing matches the pizza I can get in New York, but Maietta’s is as close as it gets.

This is easily the best pizza in Pittsburgh. None of that fancy, crappy, throw anything you want on a pizza ~ this is what a traditional pie should be. Good thin crust ~ not too thin, not too thick. The sauce is great and the cheese is great. That’s all I need. You want more? All of their ingredients are fresh and good. Their spaghetti is to die for.

No, this isn’t a fancy place. This is an old school, mom-and-pop italian eatery. That’s what I like about it. No fancy, designer chic crap to muck up the works. AND THEY DELIVER TO SOUTH SIDE!

All the old timers know about this place ~ which is the sign that Maietta’s is the real deal. I won’t get pizza anywhere else in Pgh. Oh yeah, and the prices are STILL very reasonable.
