Sushi for the win!
Here’s what happens when a group of eight people in various levels of inebriation rolls into MF Buckhead at about 20 minutes until closing time sans reservation: They are seated in a private room, and they all look at the menus for what seems like a very long time, but no orders are taken. Suddenly, dishes start arriving at the table, and they don’t stop, for what seems like a very long time.
All of the dishes are delicious, and because there are so many options, this non-sushi and fish eater discovered that sea bass and sushi with fatty tuna is actually delicious, and that eel is actually not. Their duck with peanut sauce is scrumptious, and the presentation of Kobe beef on its own little cooker was not only fun, but also excellent.
As another plus, the birthday boy who was with us got a free dessert with a candle. As well he should have, considering our bill was about $1000.00, and the drinks portion of that was a fraction of it.
Were we taken advantage of? Possibly. Did we stop it from happening? No. However, it was a delicious and fun meal, and it was a fortieth birthday celebration for the ages.
