Beer Pizza in St. Charles
I know there are many people who think beer and pizza are a perfect combination. But there are some people who have taken it to another level. It first starts with the beer, Mamma Mia’s Pizza Beer, developed in Campton Township, IL, is brewed in Wisconsin with oregano, basil, tomato, and garlic. Now I know there some people with puzzled looks on their face, but believe me you have to try it to understand it. So that is the beer. Now at Michel Angelos Pizza and Pasta, in St. Charles, IL (40W134 Campton Crossing Dr.) they take this unique beer and make a Pizza Crust with it. It is a new thing they are trying and I think they hit the nail on the head. First off their regular crust is superb, but I must say the Pizza Beer crust is probably the best crust I’ve had on a Pizza. It is light, crispy, chewy, and delicious all at the same time. I can’t imagine a better local pizzeria, but even if you’re not in the area it is worth the trek. The only downfall is they don’t serve the beer at the restaurant because they don’t have a liqueur license, but it is byob, so you can just bring your own, if you can find it because the places that carry it say it flies off the shelf. And if you get the two together, it truly is the perfect combination of beer and pizza. I give them both a 5 out of 5.

MY 92 YEAR OLD MOM ATE 1/2 A PIZZA IT'S THE BEST ! !
I took my 92 year old mother for a Saturday ride out to this place.
The family atmosphere and seeing 3 generations of guys working side by side brought tears to her eyes and an appetite to her stomach! My mom ate like she was going to the electric chair and this was her last meal ! ! This was easily the best pizza I have ever had, and being Italian, that’s a lot to admit. The service was fantastic and the owner wanted to be sure we were satisfied. Although I expected a “NO” when I asked my mom if she wanted to try one of the home made desserts, she suggested that we try the cannoli. The owner then went into the kitchen and personally prepared 2 of the best cannoli’s I have again ever tasted. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon at this little place in the middle of nowhere, and will make sure we travel there regularly. It was only a 25 minute drive from Carol Stream on North Ave. (Rt 64) just west of Randall Road at the Burlington Road intersection.
If you like REAL pizza and enjoy authentic Italian food make it a plan to visit this place. Next time we go I’m having the fried ravioli, the owner guaranteed it was the best ! !
I gotta believe him.

Pizza was the best I ever had.We settled on a 16 inch thin crust pizza. 1/2 sausage/ pepper/onion, and 1/2 margarita ( olive oil, basil, fresh mozzarella, fresh sliced tomato ). We sampled some bruschetta that Papa Joey was just preparing and it was delicious.
When the pizza came (only 20 minutes) it was bubbly and mildly turning a light golden brown on top. (The way it should be ! )
Not a trace of grease, a sign that they use a high grade of cheese, and a perfect thin crust, crispy, not soggy.
