Mifune

Can I just say that I am still thinking about my dining experience at Mifune three days after the fact?? It is obvious that the cooks there are gifted. Everything my friend and I ate was stunning. i am still thinking about the spicy tuna nigiri and how it was made. it was spicy ,crunchy and to die for .No detail is missed in the taste department. The wasabi was the best i have ever experienced. The service was excellent. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. there is only one suggestion for the owners, and that would be in the atmosphere department . Slightly lowered room light with votive candles on the tables would make dinner at Mifune , dinner in Paradise. Thanks lilibelle

A new Asian restaurant has opened in Arlington Center, MA, in the space formerly occupied by Viet’s Cafe. And while the menu doesn’t differ that much from other restaurants that offer both sushi, Japanese, and Chinese dishes, the execution of those dishes definitely sets Mifune apart. It’s obvious that a lot of attention is being spent on presentation, and that someone in the kitchen is approaching widely available dishes such as Peking ravioli (which I’m addicted to) and scallion pancakes with special care. There are also some more imaginative choices on the menu. . . my companion enjoyed a tasty, combination of rare tuna with mushroom sauce and asparagus, and you’ll also find salmon and Chilean sea bass dishes under the Dinner Entrees section. This part of the menu definitely sets Mifune apart, as does the atmosphere there on a recent Thursday night when we enjoyed live jazz along with our dinner. Several vegetarian dishes are offered as well. We plan to take some vegetarian friends there soon.
