I wasn't impressed

While eating at this restaurant, I wasn’t very impressed with the way I was treated. The lady at the cash register wouldn’t look me in the eyes and it seemed somewhat of a chore for her to smile at me. I ordered a chicken sandwich and when it arrived, it appeared to still be raw inside. If this restaurant hopes to survive, they should definitely up the standard of their service.

was almost uncooked.

A welcome addition to Uptown's growing diversity

My friends and I experienced Moto-I for the first time last week and I think I can say we were all very impressed. Aside from my excitement to have the only sake brewery outside of Japan just down the street from my home, I was thrilled to learn they offer seminars on sake so that anyone can become a sake connoisseur! As for service, our server was great: she answered our barrage of questions and had a great sense of humor and even had the owner/brewer come over and talk to us about the sake! We had the dried squid app (rubbery as expected, but surprisingly tasty), some wontons and noodles (delicious, but I don’t remember which ones), and the fried rice (also very good). It was not very busy, so the atmosphere was relaxed. The lighting is soft and the music is beat-driven and lounge-y (A mix of the “6 Feet Under” theme played). It was a pretty nice experience, so we’re going back for happy hour tonight! The only element I missed at Moto-I was sushi, but I do appreciate that they’re doing Japanese different from what most people are used to.

try a liquid dinner

I have been a regular of Moto-I since a short time after they opened. Good tap list with a decent happy hour $3 tap beers 11pm-close Sunday – Thursday and $5 Sake. Sake has been good, but I go for the beer. Food has been disappointing. Beef jerky is just OK, peanuts have been either flavorless or heavy on the spice, but always laking in salt. Noodle dishes have been underwhelming at best. Dumplings were completely lacking in flavor and when I ordered the Salmon Rangoon’s, there was no trace of salmon whatsoever, just cream cheese.

Thai Beef Jerky

good spice level, but a bit on the dry side

Not sure you have the right spot...

I have been to Moto-i and they don’t have a register or a chicken sandwich…….but they do have a Genshu and a Hen Bun you should try…………
