waste of time and money...

Norma’s at Le Parker Meridien only serves breakfast and lunch and has a huge amount of hype around it. I mean…they have 1,000 omelette and celebrities eat there! But I have no idea why. The food is decent at best, but for the prices they charge…maybe that should be downgraded to mediocre. The best part of breakfast might be the orange juice! I love orange juice, so an endless glass of fresh squeezed OJ (although a bit pricey for someone who doesn’t drink as much as I do) is totally worth. And also…just saying…the atmosphere is kind of crap. Clearly feels like a hotel lobby. A plastic looking/feeling room with no windows! How is that a good brunch atmosphere? And not to mention…service was terribly slow and inattentive.

This is indeed one tasty place for brunch. Best on an expense account, but then again, who can eat that much on a weekday when you have to go to meetings. Even the bread basket it tasty! Go for one of the fancy versions of the French toast.

The most expensive brunch I have ever had in my life was here. But it was worth every penny, because I never thought that I would get to experience breakfast with such fresh ingredients. The shrimp, spinach, and sundried tomato frittata I ordered over home fries was simple and very well done, with very large and plump shrimp. Everything was cooked perfectly—my friend’s eggs benedict had simply the best hollandaise sauce I can recall. Dear lords I want to go back again. Haha!

Overrated Brunch, Terrible Service, SKIP

The food brought me back time after time despite the absolutely horrific service I received at this brunch spot. My most recent trip broke the camel’s back and I’ll never come back to Norma’s. Waited an extra 15 minutes for my reservation, excessive waits for cold food, and my waiter was a ghost for the meal. For the extreme prices, I can name tons of better brunch spots with far better service. SKIP

Got to IHOP instead

(NOTE: I’m usually a pretty easy going customer, but this one frosted my butt)…. Ordered a REALLY TOUGH breakfast: Bacon and Eggs. Asked for over easy eggs, but when they arrived (ater about 20 minutes) I could SEE that were hard as a rock (so could the waitress). She took the plate back and was gone FOR ANOTHER 20 minutes. I finally got so irate I went up to the manager and he took care of things because the waitress was developing a ‘tude. When the breakfast arrived, the eggs were fine, but the bacon (which I had asked for crisp) was anything BUT crisp. JEEZ! Was this really so hard? The manager made some comment about “the politics of the kitchen”. Christ! Politics? At the prices they charge!?!?!? (Bring a loan officer, by the way). You’re better off at IHOP — unless you’re a masochist.

Best place for a heavy brunch if you’re hungry (or even if you’re not)! Very creative variations on classic brunch favorites.

Outstanding brunch. Large plates of delicious food – good value for the money. And if you’re feeling rich you can always go for the the Beluga omlette for $1000
