Try another location
I was greeted immediately by the hostess. She was nice. We were seated almost immediately. Our server did not come to us for 15 minutes. The server took 10 minutes to bring our drink orders. We were waiting for a total of 25 minutes from when we sat down just to place our order. The salad and breadsticks (they were decent) came ten minutes after placing our order. Our food came after about 18 minutes after we ordered. Our food was decent quality. Once the server put our order down, we did not see her again until she brought the check 40 minutes later. Refills? What refills??? We got none. We probably sat for 10 minutes after finishing just waiting for our check.
Sadly, this was not the first time we’d received horrid service. We’d gone there a number of times throughout the last ten years and it’s always the same. We think if we wait a couple of years, pehaps a change in management might result in better service, but, each time we’re disappointed.
Don’t bother with this location. The one in Lansing, IL or Michigan City, IN will take much better care of you!
Or if you want to stay in Merrillville, there are other italian places that are also great! Try them!

Black Tie Mousse Cake
The black tie mousse cake was decent. The tour of italy and the salad/breadsticks were good. (not knock-your-socks-off good-but pretty much what you’d expect from Olive Garden)
