Without a doubt, the best pizza in Boston. This place has everything: amazing pizza, beer, atmosphere, history, and location.
First, the pizza is fantastic. The crust is crispy and perfect and you can never go wrong with what pie you choose. My favorite is the Giambotta with anchovies. It has a ton of veggies and meat and is extremely satisfying.
The only other thing on the menu is beer, and they have local favorites like Sam Adams and a some choice Italian beers to wash down your pie.
The other important quality is the atmosphere. The waitress have no problems throwing people out for not following the rules (wait in line outside tourists!). They also are nice to locals who come and sit at the bar. But they don’t take crap from anyone and their conversations are great to eavesdrop on while you enjoy your pizza and beer.
Finally, their history of being the oldest brick oven pizza joint in Boston and also being a few walks away from Hanover Street adds to the quality. You got to love the old Christmas lights that surround the building too.
