Opa!
Plaka’s has been my go-to place for years when in need of late-night dining. It’s also my choice for great Greek without paying more than $10 for it.
In addition to having an extensive Greek menu, they also have a full diner menu. If you’re not into Greek, then there’s plenty of familiar dishes to be had.
If you’re looking for Greek, I’d suggest the gyro and the saganaki. If you’re looking for diner food, their breakfasts are big and really cheap.
One warning though: the late night crew can be a little cheeky. You may ask for decaf at 3 a.m. and they may tell you, “No.” At least, that’s how it happened with me!
Dishes Tried:
Saganaki
They serve it in the traditional Greek manner: flaming cheese with a zesty “Opa!” Only exception to that is when it’s past midnight. Still, they never skimp on this dish.
