Craving for Mexican Food in the Valley - this is it!

I live close to this 24 hour hole in the wall (with video games and big screen) so it may not be in the same category of “hole in the wall” nevertheless, they do satisfy my craving for mexican tacos and burritos in a very good way. The staff is always very nice even with the language barrier.

$2.99 two taco combo with rice and beans, where else can you buy it that cheap? Their meat-filled burritos are huuuge, the tortas are really good too. It’s all in the seasonings of their meats. Carne, Chicken, Al Pastor (the best I have had). I have been to most of the taco joints from NoHo to Hollywood, no one can beat this.

Cactus in Hollywood cannot touch Que Ricos. Cactus is way overrated, their tacos are as tiny as my pinky and more expensive too.

In defense of Que Ricos of the negative reviews, some reviewers complain that they don’t accept cash, long lines, they take a while in preparing their meals and had an “intestinal” problem the next day, yada yada yada. HELLOOOO people wake up!!

1. When you’re ordering at a small-time-mom n pops-joint, it is 99% of the time cash only. Since when has taco trucks or taco stands accept “debit cards”?

2. All the hundreds of times I have visited, my meats have been freshly prepared hence it may take more than 5 minutes to cook.

3. Long lines – because it’s darn good.

4. When you “stumble” in after drunken wild night and carp that your stomach is grumbling the next morning, uuum could it also be all the alcohol mixings? I have never ever (knock on wood) had any stomach or intestinal issues the next day.

5. Parking – goodness people we are in LA, haven’t you noticed, lack of it is part of the charm? Que Rico’s parking is available in the front, back, side or street, it’s not as abundant but it’s available.

So there, my take on this 24 hour-cheap-taco-burrito eatery that won’t take a bite out of my wallet.

Two Taco Combo with Rice and Beans

Generous amounts of meats. Ask for the rice that have been freshly prepared as it can be on the dry side. Beans are good.

What an attractive price.

Nachos

This is the best nachos i have had,. Stick with the carne nachos though and not chicken, the carne tastes better. They don’t skimp on the meats either.

Burritos with everything

The size is big. I cut it in thirds just so I won’t get intimidated and somehow, manage to eat it all.
