Good Street Tacos
In Arizona tacos are everywhere but I had heard that these are the real deal at Atoyao. I stopped on my way home from shopping for a takeout plate.
Their menu of standard Mexican fare: tacos, burritos, etc. is based on food of Oaxaca of Southern Mexico. The restaurant is not much to look at..picnic benches and no air. Thankfully it was a cool day or I am not sure I would of even stood in line for 20 minutes.
It certainly is kid friendly. Most items are ordered individually, so you can order as much or as little as you want.
Dishes Tried:
Fish Tacos
I had to try the fish tacos. I ordered three. They were wonderful.
It was battered Swai with cabbage and onion slaw. It came with a spicy sauce but it wasn’t too hot. Sometimes the sauces are so hot that I can’t taste the food. This was not the case.
I saw some of the other dishes that were served, carne asada, Pork al Pastor, chorizo and shrimp. They are all looked delicious.
I will go back to try some of the other dishes.
