Special Night out
Dined here once for special occasion with wife, and once with a business group. Both times I had fantastic meals. Food was always cooked to specifications. Ambiance is quiet and relaxed with contemporary design. Free Valet parking makes it one of the easily accessible restaurants in downtown. Large wine list, and friendly staff. This is a dining experience. Prepare to stay a while.
Dishes Tried:
Seared Sea Scallop
Well presented, seared nicely. If I were them I would substitute Pancetta in place of the pork belly.
Lobster Bisque
Well seasoned. Creamy with large chunks of lobster. Very tasty. Decent size although I still could not get enough. Incredible.
Fresh Shucked Oysters
Half dozen oysters. No choice in oyster type (usually prefer Malpeque). They were the large creamy type. Came with three sauces… none of which seemed to accompany the oyster well. Something with a little more spice would have been preferable.
Dry aged beef rib eye
braised cabbage, confit potato, bearnaise. The bearnaise was not seasoned enough and was very thick. The meat was done perfectly and tasted very good. Potato was very tasty as well. I could have done without the cabbage but it tasted pretty good by itself.
Creamy Chive Potatoes
I was not expecting much for a “for the table” dish, but these potatoes were phenomenal. They were whipped, green, and come to the table in a mini Staub cocotte. Creamy indeed.
