- The food was the worst we have ever had. Soup was mushy and full of curry, fattoush was so tart you couldn't eat it, sharwmas had no taste or no pickle on them. Food was tasteless or overseasoned.

- The bread is great and garlic dip. Hummous isn't garlicky enough and very plain.

Poor Management
Warning, watch what the employees say, not the same as the employer!After having frequented the restaurant several times, on Friday afternoon, yesterday, I called around 1:30 p.m. and spoke to the gal that answered and specifically asked if our two parties could sit together and use two entertainment coupons rather than splitting up, without hesitation, she said yes no problem as long as there is separate bills. So, today, Saturday, we came in, were seated, party of 6, and asked the waiter to give us two bills, pointing out which member is with which party. Well, after the meal, prior to our bill coming, I gave the waiter the 2 coupons and he proceeded to the back towards the kitchen. Shortly thereafter, the waiter came back and said the Manager said we can only use one coupon for the table. I asked for the manager and Sam, manager/owner, came back and said we could only use one coupon. I proceeded to share the conversation I had with his employee yesterday and Sam quickly said I should have asked for a Manager. Well, why would the employee not have asked the manager rather than make that decision and give false information. Sam would not give. Poor business practice for a Manger to not back up his employee and easily lose at least 6 steady customers. I guess we will have to frequent the other Sahara restaurant in Shelby. So So Sad. It boils down to the principle of poor management.

Overall sahara is a good restaurant. food is great. I have been coming to sahara since they opened. I dont come that often, but i try to make a visit 2-3 times a month. The garlic butter dip is my favorite! they provide plenty of it and it goes good with everything.

I decided to try out this place after eating at lebanese grill for a while. I saw that they were now serving beer and wine and decided to give them a try.
My overall experience was great. The server was the best part of our meal at sahara. She was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. I ordered the lamb kabob dinner (which had a excellent flavor to it) and my wife tried their combo platter that you can pick 2 items from.
While waiting for our food, we were brought tons of their fresh oven baked bread and garlic sauce. They also serve some type of pickled caggabe dish with the meal. It was very unique and had a distinct taste to it. The wife and I ordered couple glasses of their house wine as well.
At the end of the meal, the server brought us baklava at no charge since it was our first time there. Very excellent way to give thanks to someone.
Overall, we had a great experience. The food was delicious,and our server was excellent. We plan on comming back!
