A Chinese chowhound from Chicago, IL tried it, didn't like it, and rated it . They didn't like the food, didn't like the service, and didn't like the ambiance.

Saint's Alp Teahouse

Located in Chicago’s Chinatown under the Phoenix Restaurant. Their drinks are good but the food is a little pricy given the type and quality of food. You’ll see lots of teens there.

Mung bean drink

Light, refreshing, good texture with just the right amount of sugar and ice.

Not a bad place. Toast is unique but a little pricey ($1.75 for a piece of toast…think about it). Tea eggs a little disappointing, but its a good location for a casual group.

crappy balls

this is a new place that opened up in chinatown, and from the outside, it looks like a fun place so i gave their boba a try. how disappointed i was. i have no intention of returning here for boba.

but, they do have other drinks and food, which i may give a try…like their toast. i’m a sucker for big toast.

Black Tea with Milk*

boba was so tough, undercooked. the serving size is also small. a shrunken version of what is normally served at other boba places.

I would give the place 4 stars for certain things—their Mocha is great! Pretty chocolate-y for a mocha, but delicious. If you sit in for it they serve it in a tea pot, and put small jello cubes (maybe grass jelly?) on the bottom of the cup. The food is ok ( 3 stars), but it’s pretty cheap overall.

The building itself was nice and cute with bright lighting unlike anything in Greenwich. The dollar chicken special (thanks to Grace, I don’t know what it was actually called) was mexcellent, and so was the dish I ordered (Shrimp & Avocado something or other). It tasted like sushi. A lot of the dishes look really whitewashed though. The mint creme drink that I ordered was a bit goofy… But I give the restaurant 4 stars because it’s snazzy food for the price, at least compared to the Joy Yee’s in Naperville.
