Pastrami and German Chocolate Cake.. Yum!
I’ve been going to the Schlitz Deli for years and I’m happy to have the opportunity to give them a thumbs up. I almost always have the pastrami since it is so good, unless it’s one of those times they have this great smoked pork loin they occasionally do. I was saddened to see they no longer do the breakfast sandwiches which were absolutely a reason to get up! Please, if you’re a deli person and haven’t been, do go and help ensure this is one restaurant that doesn’t fall prey to the many closings that seem to be happening these days.

Pastrami
Everything made here is great and the pastrami is always top-notch. I forget the name of the sandwich, but dark ride, sauerkraut, and thousand Island makes it a pastrami Reuben I guess. at the last second I also had to grab a piece of German chocolate cake instead of my usual Texas sheet cake or brownie. I hope they keep serving that, it was a really good.
