Lively Korean Restaurant
Sik Gaek is a very lively Korean restaurant in Flushing NY.
The food is traditional Korean. Evey meal starts off with a fried egg, soup (fish broth?) and whipped egg (looks like a souffle). Tonight we had Baby octopus in a very spicy red broth. It consisted of baby octopus (about 30) clams, mussels, whole shrimp, vegetables and lots of noodles. The broth was spicy and made my eyes water,( but I survived). The restaurant is very busy with an open air kitchen. The decorations are a Korean version of TGIF’s, with stools for chairs. Each table has it’s own bbq burner. A very enjoyable experience, A great place to go if you’ve never had Korean food. The servers will explain everything from food to Korean traditions.
