Italian in Paradise

We went for a nice Italian meal on a beautiful Friday evening. They have indoor and outdoor seating, in this hotel restaurant. The Courtyard Marriott is formerly the Wyland hotel, a beautiful boutique hotel with an ocean theme and tropical landscaping. With busy Kuhio Avenue right outside, the back view is one of tiki torches and coconut trees. The parking is $6 for 4 hours valet with validation, and there was a musician playing a nice mix of island, and oldies with a little light jazz. Dinner starts off with complimentary warm foccacia which is crisp on the outside and light and slightly chewy inside.
Bottled beers were $5-$6, and I had read reviews of the restaurant that said it was overpriced, but I found it to be quite reasonable. We had 2 entrees, an appetizer salad and 3 beers for $60, not including tip. Quite reasonable for Waikiki, a tasty meal in a very nice dining room. Tropical breeze cooling the air, soothing music, it was quite enjoyable.

Mixed Green Salad with roasted vegetables

This was a salad of mixed greens with a little chopped tomato, roasted kabocha squash, and eggplant, onion, tossed in a light and refreshing vinaigrette. It was topped with shaved Parmesan and accompanied by roasted walnuts and a chunk of blue cheese. Refreshing, light, packed with flavor, it was a great start.

Sausage and Peppers

This was an entree of 2 Italian sausage links served with red and green bell peppers and onions in a creamy tomato based sauce served with a side of linguine in garlicky olive oil. It was a chore for me to finish, but I gave it my best shot.
