A diner from Seattle, WA tried it.

A "TGIF" Experience to finish the Merry Month of May (31st)
This location is almost beside The Outback, so if we had changed our minds this afternoon, we could have slid in over there. A couple weeks ago, I joined the Friday’s website for more info, printed off the membership “card” to carry and “get my stripes” when dining at Friday’s (gimmick to get you to spend money, but as points add up you get some “deals” – also, when you show your “card” to the waittress, you get free chips and salsa!
My first impression of the interior was “high tech yuppie decor with a dash of 70’s thrown in” – the kind of place you picture after work “young-upwardly mobile folks” gathering to “hob knob” or as is the expression these days: “networking over drinks and things” ..The bar raised on upper level was interesting – and the assortment of booths or tables was “the usual” (mostly black trim, but reasonably comfortable. Tables work best for us oldies.
The seating was quick and amiable (mid afternoon/slower pace) – our waitress introduced herself as “Heavenly” (her actual given name she said – we didn’t check her license – her appearance fit the name) –
She filled our drink order quickly (2 teas unsweet w/lemon & water w/lemon) and as she did so, she noticed my Friday’s Stripes Card on the table – and reminded me we were entitled to “free chips and salsa” – that was nice because, I’d forgotten.
We frazzled thru the menu for a bit, too many choices, not enough time – but the “rib guy” zeroed in on the half rack of ribs & all else fell into place – I was able to concentrate on what to get. She served the courses in fine fashion – a couple items missing and she corrected quickly.
When I signed up on internet, also printed off some coupons I couldn’t find this afternoon – one entitled a ‘one time jump to front of the line’ – which we didn’t need mid-afternoon …. and a choice of one free starter or one dessert – We may use on the next trip.
In the meantime, when we got the bill, she had entered our membership number, and we had accumulated “27 points” …not sure yet where that leaves us — and how many points equal what coupon etc…find that out later.
Overall not a bad time was had by the two of us – I had some to bring home – the husband devoured all of his – normal for an outing of ours. If just rating her service, she deserves a 10, the rest of the experience was four to fivish – can’t be perfect all the time!
Dishes Tried:
2 for $10 special
Had a choice, one starter and one entree or one entree and one dessert (could have done the 3 for $12.50 or thereabouts, but no desserts grabbed me today. Chose the burger and Fries, and garden salad for starter – I can usually judge a place by their Burgers n Fries. The salad was large and crisp, with good mixture of lettuce, celery, purple cabbage, tomatoes and onion with Balsamic vin. on the side. Very nice – and the burger was HUGE..with a “crunkly cheese spread thin” and lettuce/tomatoe, onion, and those funny flat tasting pickles that perk up when you bite in to them – I added my own mayo/ketchup/mustard – the burger was so thick I had to wrestle to hold on to it – the bread very soft but firm! Really good. Had to bring home half. The french fries were firm on outside, soft on inside – just right (I requested no spices on them—that works!)
Excellent.
half rack baby backs
Well, Mr. Rib Man proclaimed they were bigger than the last ones had at Chilis – so, better than Chilis but not as good as Outbacks Didn’t fall off the bone, but not tough either. The sauce was better than average. What can I say – he’s a “rib-man” through and through. He also enjoyed the garden salad which was an ’add" to his meal for extra $3 over the ten – the ribs come with the fries and a ’lime-slaw" – I snuck a bite, it was tangy/tasty – a little different from the usual “southern drawl slaw”…he enjoyed it.
Chips&Salsa (free)
I think from the credit on our ticket (“discount $2.88”) the regular price of chips and salsa must be that – it was confusing later looking at the ticket because she had put “no charge”, but showed the discount at the bottom…?
anyways, good chips, odd shape but easier to dip the sauce (which is mild, not hotsy or jalopena-ey – years ago, I ate “the hotter the better” and lived long to prosper & pay for all that “hotsy”!) …sauce was pleasant, the way i can best handle it these days. Ole Rib-Man doesn’t eat the sauce, so that was “mine” and it was “good stuff.”
Unsweet Iced Tea
that $5.18 was for two glasses so I guess water with tea flavoring runs about $2.50 per these days. This was better than some we had recently – with a little splenda and lemon in mine, it quenced the thirst adequately. Lakeland water on the side – Lakeland water (like many water suppliers needs help!)
The whole deal was not quite $30 before tip – we did pretty good for a special outing on a hot/off an on rainy Floriduh day!
