Best of Da Best Mexican Foods Cheap WOW
Favorite of Mexican Town!
I have ventured to 3 restaurants in the area for Mexican and Lupitas is by far my favorite. Most authentic, not engulfed in cheese and sauces, and SUCH GOOD TACOS! You must try the tacos like they recommend. At least one. I did sample the taco made with one of the more strange ingredients, I can’t remember exactly the name, but it tasted not so pleasant.
The restaurant is small and only accepts cash so be prepared. Also, if you are looking for a margarita or beer with those chips and salsa, wrong place…they do not serve alcoholic beverages.
The restaurant itself could use some updating, but so could the rest of Detroit. From my personal experience, the best Mexican food I’ve been served has always been out of small, random, not the most up to date places, for example, a trailer home, turned into a business. =]
Definitely go out to Lupitas….it’s a real treat. I loved having some real Mexican food once again!
