worth the wait!
This is the place to go in the Old Market for ice cream. I tried to visit earlier in my trip, but was put off by the gigantic lineup, out the door and down to the curb. On a second attempt another evening, I actually got to line up entirely indoors.
Flavors are made in small batches, and announced on a blackboard. The choice changes every day. There are the usual suspects like vanilla and chocolate, and some wackier ideas like Purple People Eater (grape and blueberry). While I waited, some flavors sold out and were wiped off the blackboard — and greeted by groans from the crowd. Then the board would come down again and a new flavor would be added. If you aren’t sure about committing to a scoop, you can have a free taste.
Your patience will be rewarded! I would definitely come back here. Especially if I had a handle on the wait time!

peanut butter banana oreo ice cream
This was a vegan flavor, made with coconut milk. All the flavors came through loud and clear, and the ice cream was rich and heavy. In the extreme heat, it melted quickly!
