The Blue Tomato

Ok, so the first time we went to eat here, the staff became smitten with my daughter when she giggled and told the lady “Tchoupitoulas”. She’s about to turn 2. That was 2 months ago. The other night we went in for dinner just before close….and the lady behind the counter looks up and tells my daughter say Tchoupitoulas for me and gave her a big hug and a kiss! She had her saying it to the handful of people in the restaurant. The staff came by the table several times to literally love on our kids. Then…..when my daughter got fussy…the lady came from behind the counter, picked her up, put her on her hip, and brought her back behind the counter to help her close down the register, etc…letting her push buttons and all. Then she let my son run a credit card and bring the people their check. We fell in love with the instant family-love as if we have known these people all our lives. We decided, this is some place we are going every couple of weeks now….one of those places I want my kids to remember going every Friday night kind of thing.

If you have never been here, you really should stop by and see what you’ve been missing! With an interesting assortment of menu items, it’s really easy to find a selection for whatever you’re in the mood for. Do you like deliciously prepared smoked ribs? A really big burger, made any way you like? How about some awesome Mexican fare like enchiladas, quesadillas, chimichangas, soft tacos, burritos and fajitas, with choices of fillings like beef, pork, chicken, steak, shrimp, cheese? Lets not forget their totally awesome “garbage can” nachos and my favorite, the house made chips and salsa. You’ll fall in love with this place even before you get inside because the aroma of their expertly prepared food is unbelievable!
