The Griddle Cafe

Living on the westside, it’s been a challenge finding good breakfast spots…which is why I’m so happy to have discovered Griddle Cafe in West Hollywood, as it offers a multitude of decadent, over-the-top takes on classic breakfast dishes. Their pancakes are unbelievably large (I’ve never seen pancakes so big) and fluffy, and their French toast variety is reason enough to keep coming back. As another reviewer noted, the dining area is tight with tables squished between booths on one side and a good size counter sitting area on the other for a complete diner-esque atmosphere. It’s casual, loud, and service is brisk. And for sure expect a wait—we showed up on a Saturday morning at 9am, and the place was already packed!

What can I say about The Griddle…. the lines are well worth the wait. I hate the fact that they close early, but I get up on the weekend to make sure to get there with time to spare. Dining area is extremely TIGHT, but who cares when you’re eating the best breakfast food in town. I recommend EVERYTHING including the fresh pressed coffee (of which I normally do not drink).

This place has the biggest pancakes you could imagine. They extend to the end of the plate and have ridiculous toppings. The golden ticket is probably my favorite, although they’re all great. Also, the peanut butter french toast is to die for. Honestly, everything is good. Seriously, you have to go.

went on a friday late afternoon and the place was packed! the breakfasts were pretty good. ask about the secret french toast (you need a password, which they’ll tell you after your first time there). there was lots of parking on the side streets and on fairfax.
