Brick Ovens Rule!

My husband and I wanted to try a pizza restaurant with a brick oven. We searched the internet and found The Wedge Pizzeria in Oklahoma City. It is a small, old building. The aroma of an Italian kitchen filled the air when we walked in and we were immediately greeted by the owner and seated. Our order was taken quickly and our soft drinks arrived immediatley after ordering. The atmosphere is very casual. Old record album covers are mounted on the wall over the door. Bobble-head figures fill a shelf behind the counter and other novelty items are placed about the room. Inside is small but there is plenty of seating on the patio. The weather was a bit chilly when we visited so we chose to stay inside. The brick oven was warm and inviting. We ordered The Wedge Trio
for our appetizer. The flatbread was tender and seasoned perfectly with Italian herbs and parmesan cheese. And the 3 dippers were truly a taste sensation! Ample serving for two. We ordered Truffle-shuffle pizza.
Light, crispy and tender crust. The toppings were bursting with flavor! And for dessert we had 2 scoops of gelato. Service was excellent! Very friendly staff. The food was exceptionally delicious. We both agree that we can never eat pizza anywhere else but at The Wedge. It’s a bit far from our home but we think the drive is worth it. We are definitely coming back!

Wonderful dish. Served on a platter. Plenty for two. Each dip was great but I found that by mixing all three together and then dipping the flatbread was even better! Will definitly order this appetizer again!


The Truffle-Shuffle pizza had an amazing array of flavors from the truffle oil, sage, crimini mushrooms, spinach, roasted chicken, parmesan and fresh mozzarella. The crust was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.


We ordered a bowl of gelato with a scoop of coconut and a scoop of Belgin chocolate. Tasted just like an Almond Joy candy bar! The gelato is smooth and creamy. Flavors vary from day to day.
