Tonny's Restaurant

Finally made it to Tonny’s, and am so glad I did. While waiting for my friend, I polished off the very light chips and wonderful red salsa, which had just enough heat to keep you coming back for more, without asking for mercy. Also had a horchata, very good.

I had the now-famous chile verde, and boy was that good. The pork was pull apart tender, lots of sauce, some onions, great flavor. Some of the pork was a bit fatty, but that didn’t detract from this dish. Also had the famous house made corn tortillas, delicious.
My friend had a shrimp dish, can’t remember which (red sauce), but it looked great, and he liked it quite a bit. The flour tortillas were also really good.

They have cactus with eggs on the breakfast menu, which was very exciting to me, as I used to eat that dish all the time at Merida. Now I’ll have to get myself to Tonny’s for breakfast.

update:
Went back for their nopales con huevos. They were good, decent scrambled eggs with cactus. The side of potatoes were blah, mushy potatoes, onions and bell peppers. Coffee was good.

They have the best tasting eggs! Service is excellent, the waitress loves my little nephew! She’s so friendly and attentive! Fresh squeezed juices are great!
