Open again

I am pleased to report that Tropical Isle is open again, and in a new, upgraded building. I liked the old building, but the new one is nice. They are recovering from a fire a year or so ago, and took the opportunity to completely remodel. When we were there, we did not care for the Country Wester Band that was playing, but we were pleased that they still had their Double Veggie Burger with fries for $8.00

Great drinks and even better veggie burgers

When you are in New Orleans walking up and down Bourbon Street and you get hungry, stop in to the Tropical Isle for a Veggie Burger. For about $8.00, they give you a double burger with fries. You can also pick up a hand grenade, but be cautious with those. You really only need one.

Veggie Burger

As good as anyones, except this one is a double patty burger. It comes with all the fixins’ including fries and will keep you going well into the wee hours of the morning. For fast food on Bourbon Street, this is your best bet.

Hand Grenade

This is the Tropical Isle’s signature drink. It is powerful and very good, just be careful. It tastes sweet, but it will hit you like a bulldozer. I am not sure if I like this drink the best or the Pat O’Brien’s Hurricane.
