Authentically Quisqueyano
Being from Santo Domingo, I have pretty high standards for Dominican food. On Sundays, they serve Sancocho (a hearty meat/potatoes/plantains stew). It tasted as good, if not better, than my mother’s! They also have an array of “moros”—from black and red beans to the more Boricua “gandules”. What really sold me on this place is that they carry “refresco rojo” Country Club! I couldn’t believe it! From what I noticed, many of the customers take their food to-go—they pack it for you as your order. The only thing Tropical Taste needs is a liquor license—so I can order a Presidente :)
