I had heard many good things about this place, so when three coworkers had their farewell party here, I had to stop by. The bar/restaurant is set up on two floors. There was no one at the front desk when we entered, so we waited patiently. When an employee arrived, she sent us upstairs. The seating host upstairs directed us back downstairs, behind the bar, to where the rest of my coworkers were seated.

It took more than 10 minutes to get a menu. After sitting and chatting with my buddies, with no sign of a waitress, someone suggested placing the order at the bar. I stood at the bar but could not get anyone’s attention. The only person who noticed me put a dishpan in front of me with who knows what in it, and muttered something about me being in the way. so I thought the person was going to lift the barrier and swoop out with the dishes but noooo it was to plunk them there and ignore me.

Once I got the menu and finally placed the order, the item came in less than 15 minutes. Two plates of very spicy crostini (apparently compliments of the house) also materialized. My coworkers never did get a menu (after more than an hour) and I promised to get them one when I went to pay. Again it took several minutes of waving to the staff at the bar, and three verbal requests, to get a menu. Even to pay, while standing directly in front of the cash, seemed to be a hassle.

(I should mention that the place was not very crowded. Although the chairs at our table were all full, there were plenty of spare chairs as well as lots of empty bar stools. )

Luckily what I ate was pretty tasty (although a tad expensive) and it might be worth a return visit.
