Yamazaki Bakery

This has got to be one of the best bakeries out there! I can almost guarantee that there is something for everyone at this bakery. I’ve yet to be disappointed at this bakery. (Well, okay, there is a disappointment to Yamazaki Bakery in that there is no place for you to dine on their treats. You have to take it for to go or find a place outside to eat.) Located in Little Tokyo at the Japanese Village Plaza, this bakery is almost always crowded. Despite the crowd, service is fast and attentive. I must also mention that all of their employees are friendly. They smile and make sure to get your attention. (It’s not the other way around where you have to try to get someone’s attention in order to buy something.)

Their baked goods are fresh and while some of their baked goods are a bit on the expensive side, you can probably find a treat or two that wouldn’t lighten your wallet so much. They also sell drinks (look behind you for the “refrigerator”). My mom personally likes their pastries (I can’t think of the name of the pastry. All I know is that it’s a long skinny pineapple flavored pastry). As for me, I’m a fan of their strawberry cheesecake. (It is good!)

I’ve yet to try many of their baked goods. They offer a diverse selection of baked goods. Each time I go in there, I just stare at the variety of goods shown behind the display window and wonder quickly what I should get. You get excited just by looking at what’s offered.

If you want to beat the crowd, go during atypical munching hours (ex. Non lunch/dinner hours) during weekends and days offering special events in/around Little Tokyo.
