It was OK. I decided to get the full Burmese experience, so I got this Burmese-style fish stew or something like that. It was interesting. I won’t ever get it again.

So as you might know, every Korean dessert place and their mother now serves Pinkberry-style frozen yogurt. I’m not a purist about this; I don’t think Pinkberry alone is the best yogurt in the world. In particular, I’m a big fan of this place. It’s close enough, and the mochi topping is great. The shaved ice is also a winner, best around. Jieun loves this place even more than me, but it’s my fave Korean dessert place.

I’ve soured on this place. First few times I went (always to the Menlo Park place) it was solid. Last few times, a couple at Santana Row and most recently again at Menlo Park, it’s been mediocre. Not just fair, but mediocre. I had the steak frites, a basic dish. The frites were fine, but the steak was hard and tasteless. Disappointing, not worth the cost; I doubt I’ll go again.

I fully realize it’s a chain, partly owned by McDonald’s or something like that, and is probably completely inauthentic. I don’t much care – I love it here. Especially the barbacoa hard tacos and the carnitas burrito. Two of the great pleasures of life. One of my go-to restaurants that I always enjoy. It’s by far my favorite Mexican chain restaurant.

Bland food. I had some sort of chili prawns/chicken noodles that is supposedly their specialty, and is marked as being extra spicy. Not spicy at all. And not enough flavor in general. I was underwhelmed.

I had gone here about a year ago for takeout and it was mediocre. Crust was a bit odd, and the pepperonis were oddly large and too spicy.

We went again for a friend’s birthday very recently and I was shocked – it was delicious. Especially the cheese pie, good thin crust, good cheese, just good all around. So yeah, it’s much better when you eat there instead of takeout, or maybe the first time was a bad night.

In any case, it’s now among my top NY pizza places in the Bay Area, along with Slice of NY and Giovanni’s. Good stuff.

OK Hawaiian. Better than the late Luau Grill. But decidedly worse that J&J or L&L. Also, they don’t have some key dishes like Loco Moco. It’s mediocre, not great, but not terrible either.

However, the interior is pretty nice for a Hawaiian place that’s not Hukilau.

My favorite Thai restaurant in the area. It’s not the best tasting – Amarin Thai and Krung Thai are probably slightly better. But the quality of the food in relation to the price is awesome. Especially at lunch, an incredible deal. And I actually like their curries better than anywhere else, particularly the yellow curry. It’s my go-to Thai restaurant.

Among my favorite pizza places in the South Bay. Great deep dish with interesting toppings. Tastes better when you eat at the restaurant; the deep dish crust is better straight out of the pan.
