Phuket Thai Restaurant

 22191 Powerline Rd
Boca Raton, FL

After scanning a listing of Thai restaurants in this area, we decided upon this one. I had seen it several times while shopping in the area. The restaurant is small – I think there were about 20 or less tables. It was very clean and the decor was attractive. There were only 2 other tables occupied when we arrived (around 6 p.m) but filled up nicely by the time we left (this was on a Wednesday night). The menu is quite extensive – they have everything! We ordered a chicken satay – it came to the table piping hot, fresh off the grill! The meat was very tasty and juicy. The satays were accompanied by a peanut sauce and cucumber salad. The portion was large , I think there were 6 skewers of chicken – this was an appetizer portion! We also had tom kat gai(?) soup – a coconut broth with chicken & mushrooms. Unfortunately, there were a few slices of something that I bit into – first I thought it was ginger. It was not – it was more like a wood chip – But since the soup was so good, we just put it aside and finished the bowl. My entree was so good – can’t remember the name -but it was white meat chicken in a curry/peanut sauce with spinach. It was spicy and good – served with white rice. The portions were so big – neither of us could finish. My dinner mate had a noodle dish with chicken that was like a pad thai, but without the peanuts. The dessert menu looked very tempting with things like “fried bananas” but we were so stuffed, we had to pass. The service was very good and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. All the dishes we saw at other tables looked great. The best thing about Phuket, I think, is that it is small and they seem to pay careful attention to the food – it was so fresh, hot & delicious!
