Al's Pizza Works

 1231 Route 166
Toms River, NJ

Best Pizza in Toms River

Al’s Pizza is hands down the best pizza in Toms River. This is the only pizza place that I will go to for quality pizza. Everything on the Al’s menu tastes great. Al and his son Al, Jr. make all kinds of pizza: authentic italian with red sauce/cheese, thin crust, deep dish, buffalo chicken pizza, and some other speciality pizzas. Cheesesteaks are wonderful with the hot peppers. Wings are good too. I could go on, but everything tastes great. If you are looking for a slice that can’t be beat, go.

Nobi

 1338 Hooper Ave
Toms River, NJ

Fantastic Sushi Place

I have been going to Nobi for over five years. I do believe that Nobi is one of the best places to get Sushi in Toms River and the surrounding communities. They have extremely fresh fish, great ingredients, and are very welcoming of anyone that comes in. I have never gone there and had a meal that was less than outstanding. They take extreme care in the preparation of their sushi and the presentation of the meal is very well executed. I usually have their Dragon Roll, Sweet 16 Roll, and a few other special rolls depending on how hungry I am… They do not skimp on the fish in the rolls either as they give you a generous portion of fish. Currently, they have been offering Sushi Specials, in which you can get 3 rolls, soup and salad for a fixed price. I want to say the price is in the area of less than 20 dollars. I highly recccommend Nobi to all of you as I have told all of my friends to go there for years.

Firefly... An American Bistro

 152 Main Street
Manasquan, NJ

The Best Restaurant at the Jersey Shore

My wife and I went to the opening of FireFly “An American Bistro” last night. It is a new restaurant that has opened on the bottom floor of the Inn on Main Hotel in Manasquan. First impressions were great. The location is beautiful and the decor in the restaurant is whimsical and inspired. The walls were painted with textured paint, the fireplace was roaring, candles were lit on each table. The service was very nice and we were immediately seated.

Now for the best part, the menu. The menu is aboslutely to die for. New American cuisine, fresh ingredients, and menu items that usually only available at established, higher end restaurants backed by celebriy chefs. The food that we tasted was fantastic. We were brought ‘Pretzel Bread’ and a spiced honey mustard dipping sauce, which quickly was gone. It was BYOB, so that paired well with the bottle of white that we had brought… Next, my wife ordered the ‘Lobster Mac and Cheese’ for our appetizer. Presentation made the cake look as good as it tasted. It was perfection.

For our meals, my wife had the Ahi Tuna, perfectly cooked, seasoned and presented, laid in a red curried pumpkin sauce with quiona. I had the “Delmonico” steak, marbled, cooked and seasoned to perfection, with chimmicurri, and paired with roasted potatoes and fresh seasonal vegetables. The Delmonico came out on a sizzling hot plate with butter. We ended our first trip to Firefly with ‘Bebe cupcakes’ and coffee. I am assuming ‘Bebe Cakes’ are cupcakes that are made in house. They were very, very good.

I love food, and not knowing what to expect when we went in, I will certainly be back. It was is about time this area has a restaurant that is taking food to this level. Now I will not have to go to the city (NYC) to get a high quality meal. Welcome to the neighborhood Firefly. It’s about time.

Delmonico

I had the “Delmonico” steak, marbled, cooked and seasoned to perfection, with chimmicurri, and paired with roasted potatoes and fresh seasonal vegetables. The Delmonico came out on a sizzling hot plate with butter. One of the best steaks I have had in a long time.

Ahi Tuna

As I said earlier, my wife had the Ahi Tuna, perfectly cooked, seasoned and presented, laid in a red curried pumpkin sauce with quiona. I was lucky enough that my wife was not able to finish her entire meal and I was able to taste this. The flavors were amazing.
