Mandina's Restaurant

 4240 Highway 22
Mandeville, LA

Somewhat dissappointed

After hearing that Mandina’s on Canal Street in New Orleans is supposed to be out of this world with lines of people anxious to get in sometimes wrapping around the building I couldn’t wait to try the new one the northshore. The service was great, the food, not so much.

Combination seafood platter

I ordered the combination seafood plate with soft shell crab and shrimp which was around 17 dollars. Needless to say I assumed that for 17 dollars I would be getting a lot of food but ended up with one very small, poorly cleaned crab and a small handful of shrimp. I guess they thought that giving me a ton of fries would make up for the pathetic portion but in my opinion, (while the fries were very good) if you’re going to spend that much money on a plate of seafood there should be more seafood than fries. I suppose that this could be attributed to the Gulf disaster or that it’s a relatively new restaurant but I will not be eating there again.
