Granite City

Granite City Rocks!
The restaurant had only been open a few days when mom and I decided to try it out. This restaurant is an excellent addition to the Troy, MI area. The other restaurants in the area now have some serious competition.
One problem is the location. If you are on 16 mile (Big Beaver) and heading East you will think you can enter off of 16 mile and will find yourself either entering the I75 freeway or continuing on down 16 mile. You have to enter at a light that takes you to a business complex, make a left into the complex and then drive a bit ways back to get to the restaurant.
The restaurant has a brewery inside. I don’t like beer but was offered a sample. I really appreciate being able to sample the beer vs paying for a large mug knowing I wouldn’t drink half of it. For people who love beer you must go here. In addition to the wonderful beer selection there is a wide variety of drinks offered. Mom ordered a ‘flying monkey’ and loved it.
The atmosphere inside is hip/cool/professional-fun. There is red and brown tile on the walls, ample and comfortable seating. The lighting is gorgeous and the brewery is pretty to look at.
Dishes Tried:
Asian chicken salad and soup
I ordered the salad and soup combination. The waiter recommended beer-cheese soup so I had that. It was very interesting to taste a cheese soup that had a hint of beer taste; I liked it.
The Asian salad was crisp, fresh and delicious.
