Classic Slice
Milwaukee, WI
Buffet with Yoga Fundraiser
What fun event! Participated in yoga session in the dining room then was treated to a pizza buffet as a fundraiser for Immigration Center in Milwaukee. Thank you for your community engagement, Classic Slice!
Dishes Tried:
Vegetarian Slice
Tasty pizza with lots of vegetables and cheese. Woo Hoo! Served hot with lots of options for add-ons to serve individual tastes. Plenty of other choices to ensure all were filled up.
R&R Poke Sushi & Smoothies
Wauwatosa, WI
Cute place!
Quaint restaurant in the village offering a variety of options for the dinner meal. Clean, fairly quiet (there on Tuesday evening) with quick service.
Dishes Tried:
Vegan of the Sea
Lots of rice which I guess is okay. The flavors were fantastic, however. Good variety in vegetables with mango that added a nice texture and taste. Fun to try a new dish and have good taste in a vegetarian option.
Blue's Egg
Shorewood, WI
Consistency and Good Taste
New adventure to Blue’s Egg in Shorewood. Gorgeous setting, great service and good food. Way to go, Blue’s Egg! Clean, accommodating environment.
Dishes Tried:
Kale Salad
Fresh, lots of variety in greens and add-ins, large portion…just a nice salad on a chilly December day. All in group had similar experiences with their meals.
Harbor House
Milwaukee, WI
Perfect location for holiday celebration
Have not always had the best of success with Bartolotta Restaurants; Harbor House redeemed them and will definitely warrant a return trip. Exquisite surroundings, impeccable service, and worth the price.
Dishes Tried:
Cavatappi Pasta
The pasta dish was an interesting combination of vegetables and taste sensations! Portion was just right to take some home and enjoy at another meal. Look forward to returning when the harbor is in daylight.
Lisa's Pizzaria Restaurant
Milwaukee, WI
Pizza is okay
Lisa’s Pizza is a staple of the east side it appears. Went with friends in November to try it out for the first time. Very quaint with good atmosphere. One server for the entire restaurant (?) but okay.
Dishes Tried:
Vegetable Pizza
No great shakes. They are not catering to the vegetarian palate which is understandable. Others in the group had a great meal. Fun to see a Milwaukee ‘tradition’ and dine with friends.
Urban Beets Cafe & Juicery
Wauwatosa, WI
Lives up to expectations
Went with friends to Urban Beets for a time of conversation and good food. Urban Beets lives up to expectations. The menu is varied and definitely offers a lot of options for health-conscious adults. Service was good on a busy Saturday.
Dishes Tried:
Nutty Nib Acai Bowl
Not knowing what to expect but highly recommended by friends the Bowl was a winner. Good tastes and freshness with just the right amount of crunchiness from the granola and nibs. Will return to try other dishes.
Toast
Milwaukee, WI
French toast won't be my choice again
Toast has been on our list to visit for a bit. The Friday morning choice of day was a good one. We were seated immediately and had great, attentive service. The menu has a lot of variety and interesting dishes.
Dishes Tried:
French Toast
Basically fried bread. A bit disappointing. The pancakes at another table looked a lot better and will be my choice next time. Perhaps others like fried bread that is called french toast; okay.
Stubby's Pub & Grub
Milwaukee, WI
Excellent venue and meal!
Went with friends for New Year’s Day Brunch. We were welcomed with Miller High Life ‘Champagne of Beers’ which was a pleasant surprise. The food was good, service good, and a definite return trip is in site.
Dishes Tried:
French Toast
Some of the best french toast I have had in a while. Challah bread was seasoned well and served hot which is not always the case when dining with a group. Thanks, Stubby’s — you got 2019 off on the right foot!
Fiesta Cafe
Milwaukee, WI
Multigrain Pancakes?
We went for Sunday brunch with friends. The waitstaff appeared new and uninformed. Others in the group had what appeared to be a fine meal. They did a steady business which was nice to see.
Dishes Tried:
Multigrain Pancakes
They were fine. The three small pancakes were basically regular pancakes with a little granola sprinkled on top. Sigh. Fruit was to accompany the dish but I had to ask the server to bring it after the meal was underway. They are not catering to health.
Greige Patisserie
Milwaukee, WI
Disappointing
Wow! What a beautiful venue. The attention to detail in every aspect was amazing. Wow! What terrible service and product. What a disappointment. We stopped in for a cup of coffee and a quick ‘look-see’ on a January afternoon. We won’t be back.
Dishes Tried:
Coffee
The coffee was cold. They had run out of coffee so the server suggested she top it off with decaf. She said she would discount the price but of course charged me full price. She reheated the already stale coffee to a somewhat lukewarm temperature. Ugh
