I loved Umamicatessen for the square-footage! I frequent the Umami in Los Feliz often and although it is big, it is packed w/ chairs/diners and I almost always feel like I am dining with the party next to me (hate that.) Tried this place opening week on a weeknight, and though packed, there was breathing room.

This Umami features is a full bar (score!) and different “stations” to dine at depending on what you’re in the mood for. I didn’t get to try the donuts or the deli but I did have the “Brainaise Fries” at the Pig Station. Meh. The “Brainaise” sauce was too gutty for me. It was really gritty and a little too game-y. Got the truffle fries also. They’re decent, I would order it again. For the burger, I always get either the Truffle Burger or the Manly Burger. Both never disappoint. Pair that with a tall glass of whatever beer on tap I’m feeling, and we are off to a good night, ladies and gentlemen!

Service: Being that it was newly open and hectic, the wait-staff did the best they can. Our server, along with an occasional busboy, were tentative and got us everything we asked for in a timely manner.

Parking: being in DTLA, parking is always a you-know-what but I think I remember there was valet or a lot right next door for $6.
