Papas Tapas

 3547 Boulevard St-Laurent
Montreal Metro Area, QC

Nice discovery on St. Laurent!

We were a group and ordered various tapas to share and it was excellent. The presentation of dishes is well made and everything was very good.

The service is very professional and courteous, which made our nice evening.

Love of course the free cocktails from 5 to 7 for the ladies!

highly recommend it.

Bad service

I had a good experience with this place so I decided to bring 6 friends: big mistake! The food is okay, but the service was one of the worst I’ve seen in ages. The waitress kept ignoring us – we had to help ourselves to the menus – and then most of us did not get exact orders. I was kind enough not to leave any tip instead of leaving pennies.

Good italian

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times over the past couple of years and should really make a point to go more often.

mouth-watering subs and perfectly cooked pasta dishes… what more can I say than, a really satisfying meal with generous portions!

recommend: gnochetti, pasta with rapini and sausage, and any of the subs.

service: very good and friendly.

Not for groups

I love this restaurant when it comes to a small dinner party, 2-4 people. I decided to have my birthday there and it was really a horrible experience. It was the middle of october, pretty cold… they made us wait outside for about an hour after my reservation time. And then finally when we did get inside, they messed up like three people’s orders. besides group parties they are amazing!

Great fro groups

We where please by this restaurant!!! everything was amazing, food, service and atmosphere!! We where a small group of 12 and it was perfect, fast professional service, friendly but not to rush and delicious dishes, especially lamb shoulder, and you must take the mix plates of appetizers!! We will be back soon for sure !!

A surprise

Amazing food. I was a bit skeptical on the prices because the menu is quite pricey for asian food, I decided to go try the restaurant during lunch time. The lunch specials were at a very reasonable price which included a soup or salad. I tried the Classic dish which included beef and chicken brochettes with rice and salad. I was blown away with the taste! The flavors and tenderness of juiciness of their meats were the best I’ve ever tasted so far. Their salad was a mix of greens and fruits with a zingy salad dressing that awakened my taste buds as well. If you’re skeptical, I suggest trying the lunch menu to get a general idea of what the food tastes like. I was impressed and would definitely go back (lunch or supper!)

Confusion Tapas Du Monde

 1635 Rue St-Denis
Montreal Metro Area, QC

Tapas galore

My husband and I love tapas but had not found a really good place in Montreal yet. Confusion is centrally located in the Quartier Latin and stone throw from the Theatre St-Denis. First, try the sangria (triple X was excellent). Our waiter was keen at suggesting 4-5 tapas worth savoring out of the relatively long list. They were all excellent! Many of the tapas are not necessarily based on typical Spanish cuisine although some of the classics are available. The foie gras and the tartares were delicious. Overall great friendly service and tasty well presented food. As for the cost – it’s tapas! But all things considered, we had a large pitcher of sangria and 5 tapas for $100 – that’s not bad at all!! The only thing I missed was olives to munch-on between servings… I will be back!

Byla Byla

 1395 Avenue Dollard
Montreal Metro Area, QC

This is a little gem of a restaurant hidden in an unlikely place. The food is delicious, very nicely presented, very reasonably priced for the quality and the service is top notch.

On top of the fresh ingredients and atttention to detail, it’s the extra little touches that make this such a great place. There is the welcoming atmosphere every time I have visited. When I visited for dinner, I was served by an incredibly enthusiastic waiter who told us about each item we ordered, showing great pride in his job and knowledge of his product. And, when I ordered brunch and my husband order the table d’ hote lunch, I was brought a little plate of fruit so that I was not left watching hungrily while he ate his salad.

Having been disappointed with the quality and service at Montreal restaurants so often, I was delighted to discover Byla Byla.

Mazurka (CLOSED)

Good Pierogis

It’s a very good restaurant. It was our first time trying Polish food so we went with the “Mixed Plate”. It had a little of everything and it was very delicious. The Kielbasa was very good and so were the Pierogis. We will be returning again for sure. Very recommended.

Cabane Grecque

 102 Rue Prince-arthur Est
Montréal, QC

Like the rest of the lot of Greek restaurants lining Prince Arthur, Cabane Grecque offers affordable fare catering to tourists on a budget. For my money I’d rather eat across the street at La Caverne Grec, but the food and staff are fine. Nothing wrong with the place, but nothing to really set it apart from its competitors which are literally within walking distance.
