Going down hill

I have been ordering food from this establishment for many years. It saddens me their customer service and food quality has slowly diminished since the new owners took over in the last 6 months or so. Tonight was the last straw though for me… I tried to order on line and the links would not connect for me to complete my order so I decided to call in the order and was told they were too busy to do any more deliveries and I could pick it up. I asked to speak to the manager as I felt they needed to understand they were going to lose a long time customer and I am sure I am not the only one that has seen what I have seen. The manager told me they were short a driver and were behind on deliveries and it was close to the cut off time anyway. I then let her know I would have ordered 20 minutes sooner but could not complete my order on line (even calling in I still had an additional 15 minutes till the scheduled time). She then wanted to deliver all kinds of other reasons they could not commit to a customer during THEIR scheduled hours including the fact they send their cook home at least 15 minutes before close of business. Maybe I’m just a little crazy but shouldn’t your cook (duh you’re a restaurant) stay during all of business hours? To that response I asked why the cook would leave before close of business. I did not receive a reply as she hung up on me… If you don’t want to fulfill orders at that time then close earlier!!! Its not the customers fault or problem you are short-handed. If you show your employees the same level of commitment you show your customers it’s no wonder you are short-handed. Maybe you should step in and help when short-handed instead of being rude and turning customers away.
