Pleasant surprise in Gettysburg

After spending an emotional day in Gettysburg, we were hungry and tired. We just wanted something to eat and to get back to our hotel. The moment we entered the restaurant, our tired attitudes changed. The atmosphere was fun, the staff friendly and engaging, and the menu offered much more than we thought it would. We had a wonderful meal, fun with the waitstaff and discovered a place we will definitely visit the next time we are in the area.

Although we didn’t have a beer, they brew it there and many if not all of the meny items were made with ale, including their pizzas. They are also known for their chicken pot pie which we did not have but will try on our next visit. Their prices are reasonable too.

Mile High Meatloaf

This was the best meatloaf we have ever had and maybe the largest portion too. They don’t call it mile high for nothing. The meatloaf is served on a large piece of texas toast. The mashed potatoes and gravy are piled right on top of the meatloaf and then topped with French fried onions. The overall appearance was spectacular. Who would every think that meatloaf could look and taste so appealing?

The gravy had a barbeque kind of look and taste and was very delicious although I can’t describe it. The meatloaf was very moist and had lots of flavors.

Good to see you writing reviews!! Hope to see more especially as you travel!! It’s funny cause I was going to ask if you’d written down the restaurants for when I go. ;)
