The pizza is not very good, although it's authentic Itailan

Pizza in Italy isn’t all that great, so why would you try to re-create it here? All the ingredients are imported, but the pizza is mostly crust made with special Italian flour. The server recommended the meatball appetizer, so we ordered them to try. It was one single meatball served in a bowl. Kinda weird. Extensive imported beer and wine list, but if you want to drink American, Bud Light is the only domestic beer they sell. If you are looking for a great new pizza place in the south suburbs, this isn’t it.

pizza

We ordered two pizzas for four people, and there were no leftovers. They could do a little more with the toppings, pretty light on the sauce and cheese.

Rice Bistro & Sushi (The Orchards)

Unusually Good Chinese

Rice Bistro, formerly Lo Coastal Fusion, has a great new Chinese menu. They serve large portions that are resonably priced. They still have sushi but I didn’t see anyone eating it. The shrimp and scallop dish was excellent. Very lightly fried and in a sauce that is hard to describe, but delicious. They have a good wine list and several beers on tap. Very good service and the owner was very visible and approachable to chat with, if you wanted to.

It’s easy to get a table now, because it’s new. But that won’t be the case for long.

Shrimp and Scallops with Cashews

I’ve never tasted anything like this. The sauce was light but very interesting and delicious. My wife had Orange Chicken which was also great. The spring role appetizer comes with a spice, but good, peanut sauce.

huge prices, tiny portions

If you like very small portions of overpriced food, you’ll love this place… but we’ll never go back. I really hate leaving a restuarant still hungry. One bright spot was the cornbread, but they ran out so the waitress told us we had to share. They probably ran out because people were still hungry. The menu is a little difficult to understand and I don’t see the connection to “American with a southern influence”. Check it out online first, although without the waitress to tell you what all of the descriptions really mean, you may not be able to tell what they really mean.

steak (filet)

steak was good, but it was a small filet on a plate with nothing else excpet some wilted greens.
