Not Bad, Just Not as Good as Expected.

I have tried this one before and decided to give it another try. Ordered the Marinated Olives for the table. They were really good. One of my companions ordered the Fire-Roasted Vegetables. They were excellent! Really flavorful and lots of them! I ordered the Creamy Tomato Soup. It was good, but could have been a little hotter. Then, for my entree, I ordered the Spinach Salad with Scallops. The spinach was fresh and tender. There was just the right amount of grated parmesan cheese on it and the dressing was delicious. The bacon was unevenly cooked, some over, some under. The Scallops were actually sandy, as though they had not been properly washed. My two companions split a Roasted Chicken salad. The chicken on the salads was still frozen in the middle! And it wasn’t warm at all on the outside! the waitress did take it back and defrosted the chicken, but the dish had already been spoiled for my friends.
All in all, an okay experience, not great, but not terrible.

Good lunch place

I met with three colleagues for lunch at this quaint little restaurant. The service was wonderful and the meal was a delight.

I had the White Bean and Andouille Sausage Soup and salad with a Banana Nut Bread Creme Brouleefor dessert. The soup was wonderful. Very rich and flavorful with lots of beans and sausage along with vegetables. The salad was really good, too. The banana bread creme brulee was a bit of a disappointment. The banana bread was too dense and chewy and there was not enough creme brulee. I would have preferred just the creme brulee.

White Bead and Andoiuille Sausage Soup

Excellent soup! It was filled with wonderfully cooked white beans and big chunks of andouille sausage along with other vegetables. It was hot and really full of flavor.

The Pirates' House

Not as good as it once was....

I recently dined at the Pirate’s House with a business colleague. I must say I was disappointed. I had the She Crab soup and the Crab Cakes. The soup had to be sent back the kitchen to be warmed up. It was really cold. When it came back, it was in a different container and looked like a much smaller portion, although I am sure it must have been the same amount.

The crab cakes were just so-so. I expected so much more when I saw them. They were generous scoops of crabmeat, but lacked any zest. They were just bland. The remoulade with which they were served micht have added to them if there had been more of it.

My companion had the LowCountry Spring Rolls. He said they were okay, nothing to brag about. He enjoyed his soup after it was warmed up.

I was disappointed. This was once one of my favorite sure bets in Savannah.

One of the most annoying things about it was the female “pirate”. She kept coming around and bothering us, even suggesting that we buy her dinner. I could have done without that. The last time I was there, they had a Johnny Depp look and sound-alike who was delightful.

Crab Cakes

Ho hum. No zip at all. Very generous portions, but lacking in flavor and presentation. The remoulade might have made it zippier, but there was so little of if that I couldn’t tell.

Heaven on a plate! What a fantastic presentation and excellent food! I met there recently with business colleagues and was so impressed! The service was excellent and the food beyond description.

I had the bene encrusted grouper. It was some of the best grouper I have ever tasted and so fresh I would have sworn it had just been caught.

One of my colleagues had the Chicken and grits. She had never tasted grits before and I had to tell her what they were. She loved them even though she knows her trainer won’t approve.

The other diner had the tuna. It was cooked to perfection.

It’s pricey, but so worth it!

Bene-encrusted Grouper

The best grouper I have ever tasted. It was so fresh that I would have sworn it was just caught. The presentation was beautiful. It was served with julienned vegetables and rice that were all perfectly cooked and seasoned. Altogether one of the best dishes I have ever had in a restaurant.

Once again, I was surprised to find this restaurant in little Sumter, SC. This is a first class Mexican restaurant. The salsa is wonderful. The wait staff is genuinely interested in serving you great food.

I usually guage a restaurant by the quality of their chilles reneno. These were not the best I have tasted, but the other items on the menu are so good that I could overlook this little gaff.

They have some of the best chicken soup I have ever tasted. It is chock full of shredded chicken breast and vegetables. I was amazed at how good it is.

Chicken Soup

Outstanding! This is the best chicken soup I have ever tasted. Chock full of shredded chicken breast and vegetables. Wonderful!

Thai House

Really Delicious!

This was a pleasant surprise! A Thai restaurant that is worthy of a bigger city. The menu is vast and all items that I have tried are delicious! The food is fresh and the tastes are exceptional!

Service is wonderful and prices are reasonable.

They also serve sushi!

Locos Grill & Pub

Loco to Eat Here!

I chose this restaurant over Panera Bread…Big mistake! The service was so-so. The meal was awful! I had the Blue Moose Salad. It didn’t have all that was advertised on the menu, and what was there was old lettuce, brown around the edges; greasy onion strings; and a really tough opiece of steak that was full of gristle. All this for only $15! I will not be going back.

Blue Moose Salad

Yuck! The dish, as servec, didn’t match the menu description at all. The lettuce was old and brown; the steak was tough and full of gristle; the onion strings were greasy. The tomatoes were pretty good, though.

Dawg House

Dawg House or Dawg Food?

This new islands restaurant just didn’t live up to the hype that preceeded it.,

I ordered seafood, which was probably my first mistake. It was heavily breaded and tasted like the frozen mush that it was.

My roommate had a burger and fries and was also disappointed. The fries tasted like frozen Ore-Idas and the burger was less than stellar.

Overall, the quality just didn’t justify the price that was charged.
