JaK's Grill
Issaquah, WA
Affordable, yummy steak
The atmosphere is similar to that of a pub. The restaurant looks low-key without huge or bright signs to attract you, but this hidden gem has excellent steaks.
Problem: its not that hidden. Many people know about it and many people go here. I’ve had to wait almost everytime I’ve been here, but its always been well worth it.
Come during non-busy days (ie. skip wkends) and you can give you names, number and stroll around front street. There is a library across the street if you need to use wifi or just read.
The staff here is friendly and the place doesn’t feel pretentious.

Sa-Rang Chae
Issaquah, WA
Authentically korean
The Korean BBQ here is simply awesome and its much cheaper to eat here than other Korean places in Seattle. The meat is very well marinated. BBQ meat portions are big and everything tastes yummy with OB (if you like korean beer)
Note: the service here is definitely not the best, with the staff speaking very limited english and mostly korean. its a very mom and pop like korean restaurant.
Also, go during late hours and not sat evening, when its busy and the 2 staff are way overbooked.
Dishes Tried:
Korean BBQ for 2
Superbly marinated, this HUGE portion fills 3. There’s chicken, bulgogi, spicy beef and calbee. oh so yummy! It also comes with this bowl of green onion salad and a bowl of lettuce to wrap your meat in if you choose. You should also get onions and garlic though they forgot at one time.

Toy's Cafe
Bellevue, WA
Decent Chinese Menu
The inside of the restaurant looks like any normal chinese restaurant. Not too big but its fairly nice.
I have never tried the usual english menu. I’ve always ordered from the chinese menu. The appetizers look pretty good. They have different styles of dumplings – pan fried, or ones in sauce.
What I usually order:
1. half beef- half tendon sichuanese noodles in soup
2. green onion pancake
3. deep fried tofu

The Parlor - Billiards and Spirits
Bellevue, WA
Fun place to hang out
Its a big fun place to hang out. You can pick the music you like on the jukebox. You have to pay of course, but its fun to find songs you haven’t heard in a while.
The atmosphere is kinda fun, with pool and not too bright. The food is fairly good as well. I especially like the swiss and mushroom burgers
Dishes Tried:
Swiss & Mushroom burger
Succulent mushrooms loaded on top of the burger

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers
Redmond, WA
Bottomless Fries and Strawberry Lemonade
The best part about Red Robin is the strawberry lemonade, with real strawberry halves. You can continuous have refills and the strawberries are a little sweet without being overwhelming.
I myself really like the fries as well. The fries are not the thin kind, but somewhat like steak fries. Its got more “meat”. They also bring more fries if you finish yours.
The burger I usually get is the Guacamole Bacon Burger. Its the best of both worlds, guac and bacon. Yum Yum… my only complaint is that I cannot finish the burger and need to save the rest for the next day, which is not such a bad thing.
Oh, they also sing happy birthday for you, if it is your birthday.
Dishes Tried:
Guacamole Bacon Burger
Smooth guacamole with crispy bacon!
Freckled Lemonade
Tasty strawberries pieces!

Wibbley's Gourmet Hamburgers
Bellevue, WA
Wee burger fits me
I am not much of a burger person, but today I went to the much touted burger place recommended by my friends. And little me found a burger that suits me. Its a little smaller than the usual big burgers at other places. The burger was quite juicy.
I highly recommend the grilled onions on the burgers. Its 30 cents more, but it tastes sweeeet!!
And the fried mushrooms are really good, but VERY hot. Burned my tongue slightly, but yummy!!!

B & O Espresso
Seattle, WA
Hip dessert place
I looooove the chocolate pot at B&O.
When I get a chocolate craving, B&O it is.
The darkened atmosphere with decors lends itself a slight european feel.
I gave it a 4 star instead of 5, because of painful parking in CapHill and also it tends to get quite busy, which means I usually have to wait 10 mins or more.
Dishes Tried:
Chocolate Pot
Slightly molten chocolate cake melts and seeps into your tongue pores and I find myself in utterly bliss.
haha… dramatic but true.
Not too sweet, but warm and fluffy with a hint of whipped creme, this dessert is del-delicious!

Yarrow Bay Grill
Kirkland, WA
Scallop conversion
I frequent this place quite often. They are usually on the 25 for $25 list of restaurants and I have been there 3 times for that.
I went from not a scallop person to ordering scallops 70% of the time I’m there. The other 30%, I try other dishes. :)
Its excellent for a romantic dinner or with a group of friends. Plus, you can doggy bag your wine, if you cannot finish it.
As an added bonus, during the 25 for $25, if you use MasterCard (if I remember correctly), you can get some gift certificate for some grocery store, towards something. Of course, you need to go a bit earlier in the 25 for $25 season before they run out.
Dishes Tried:
Seven Spice Calamari
Lightly battered and very flavourful, my mouth drips when I think about it
Crabcake
Not as good as SeaStar, but close. The mango sauce with curried flavour crabcakes adds a nice tropical touch
Pan Seared Scallops
Best scallops in Seattle!!

Anthony's Homeport
Kirkland, WA
Reasonably Viewtiful
Sunset dinners here are a steal.
Located right by the water, with a 4 course menu under $20, I can’t complain. The 4 course menu includes a chilled shrimp cocktail, chowder or salad, entree and dessert.
The chowder is fairly consistent, without being overly thick. But I like their white fish the best.
The atmosphere is friendly without being too pretentious and a stroll by the deck after dinner is excellent for my tummy!
