Leave for the Coffee Stay for the Pasteries
The coffee here tastes like the water came from the hudson, they don’t know what a Breve is, and the pull the shots and let them sit long enough for the creme to disappear before even steaming any milk.
That being said the Fresh OJ is like eating a fresh orange, and the baked goods are to die for. Seriously, I ate some little fruit pastry and it was like the first time I heard the beatles.
Pros: Amazing food and pasteries, to die for, way way way way worth the stop. Prices are very reasonable.
Cons: Coffee and Espresso is not worth asking for, hit a starbucks on the way. With a current health inspection rating of B I was looking for signs of any unsanitary conditions (but I didn’t see anything that wasn’t on the up and up happening).
Dishes Tried:
Ham & Cheese Quiche
Smooth and delicious with a flakey crust. Subtle hints of cinnamon
Fruit and Creme Pastry
Simple heaven in every bite with subtle sweet cream and fruit surrounded by shiny, flakey golden pastry … If this doesn’t make your eyes roll back into your head and knock you right out of your chair something is wrong with you.
Breve Latte
Better coffee in downtown manhattan made from fresh dishwater. This is the worst example of espresso I have seen on the west coast. There is quite obviously no training for the staff on how to make espresso or even what espresso drinks are named.
Hit a starbucks where at least you’ll get a consistently mediocre cup on your way to this amazing bakery

Perfect lunch spot!
We love to have lunch at a Delight of France. They have a wonderful menu and great pastries. It is an adorable little spot with a great atmosphere. I know they serve dinner and breakfast, but I haven’t tried those yet. There are nice items to please a vegetarian, as well as, plenty for meat lovers. Great place to meet and linger over tea or coffee while sharing a dessert.
