Dragon Palace

Dragon Palace used to be a favorite restaurant ours. My husband and I eat out a lot. I would say we have ordered carry out from this location about six times in the last four weeks. Normally there is no problem. We ordered from there last night (3-18-09). We live in Tinley Park and travel to the Mokena location because we like the taste of the food at the Mokena location better than the Tinley Park location. Well, we picked up our order and went home to eat it. As I opened the bag I noticed they forgot to put our white rice in the bag that should have come with our order of sweet and sour chicken. I called them and told them what happened. The woman who answered the phone told me the rice should be in the bag. I once again told her it was not in the bag. She said … well then come back and get it. I asked her if they could deliver it to us since this was not the only item we ordered and that our food would be cold by the time we got back to eat it. She refused to deliver it and told me to come back to get it. I asked … if I come back to get it … will you replace my order since all of this food will be cold by the time I get there and get back home. She rudely said NO!! We will not do that. I told her … fine … we will come back to pick up the rice but we are not happy about it. I also mentioned that we were regular customers and would most likely never come back if this was the customer service we would receive. She said that would be fine. So … basically she was telling me she did not care that they did not give us an item we paid for and that she would not do anything to make up for their mistake. Now, since I am 6 months pregnant … my husband offered to go back on his own. He said upon arrival he asked to speak with the manager. The same woman I spoke with over the phone treated him as rudely as she treated me. He asked that they replace the order so my food would not be cold. She refused again. He said he kept asking what they could do to fix this situation since we are such regular customers. She said nothing. Most of the time she stared at him blankly. Then, she said to him very rudely … why would I replace your food?? Your “girlfriend” told me you would not be coming back to eat here again. He told her I had said that because she was not willing to fix the situation. He finally asked if there was anyone else he could talk to about this issue. She said she would call over to the Tinley Park location to talk to the manager there. After speaking briefly to the Tinley Park location she was told to replace just the chicken and to give us the rice that had been left out. So, he was given a replacement for my chicken and the whitre rice we had not received. By the time he made it back to our house the sweet and sour sauce from our original order had turned to a gellitin like substance and I could not eat any of the food because of how discusting the sauce had turned. I ended up eating a small amount of the white rice and throwing away everything else. We are very disappointed in this situation and most likley will not return to one of our favorite restaurants because of this rude woman who made a mistake and wasn’t willing to fix it. Shame on you Dragon Palace!!! Especially in these economic times … you should be happy people are able to eat at your restaurant and you should do everything in your power to keep your customers satisfied. Not only am I writing this review … I have also contacted the local newspaper to ask who I can speak with about getting this story published. I truely hope you realize the damage you have done to your reputation!!
