Oriental Style Delight
This seems to be another Charlotte mainstay – where restaurants come and go, it’s been around awhile according to them, the family has been preparing for Charlotte are for years. I meant to ask if they also operated the Great Wall that used to be on Montford (Buffet style) for years and forgot to ask! This one they said has a Sunday buffet – may try next time. The service was impeccable here, seated quickly – staff was perfect in timing taking and serving our meals. Nice place, pleasant but not overwhelming atmosphere.
Dishes Tried:
Won Ton
3 good size won tons in pleasant flavor broth. Very nice.
Vegetable Lo Mein
I always have to have one of the “Lo Meins”, it wouldn’t be fun for me if I didn’t – good noodles, not mushy – great flavor.
Moo Goo Gai Pan
Part of reason I like this dish, I like to say the name, silly but kind of rolls off tongue ! pieces of chicken in the sauce with the vegetables mixed in – good stuff. I went a little crazy ordering two main dishes, but wanted some to “take home” !
Beef w/Broccoli
Husband seemed to enjoy this (as always he asked them to “go easy on the soy sauce”), said the beef tender/fell apart, broccoli not soggy.

BUFFET IS OK--BUT
DONT REMEMBER EXACTLY THE LAST TIME I ATE THERE, BUT I AM SURE IT WAS NOT MORE THAN 3 MONTH AGO, SEEMS THAT THEY HAVE RAISED THE PRICES SLIGHTLY , BUT………… WITH SO MANY BUFFETS AVAILABLE, $9.00 SEEMS A BIT HIGH FOR ITEMS MAINLY SERVED IN A BROWN ( HEAVY/ SOY ??) SAUCE. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THE QUALITY WAS GOOD TO VERY GOOD, SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT, BUT…..WHEN YOU ARE LOOKING FOR VARIETY OF STYLES YOU WILL HAVE A DIFFICULT TIME FINDING IT HERE. TWO SOUPS, NO WON TONS, NO CRAB LEGS… I THINK THE NEXT TIME I WANT CHINEESE, I HEAD BACK TO TSING TOW, OR PAY A BIT MORE AT TIN TIN. FOR GOOD TO GREAT CHINEESE AT A VERY MODEST PRICE I WOULD GO BACK TO SHANGHI—VERY REASONABLE AND FAMILY OWNED.
