Caffe Etc

I discovered this adorable little coffee shop while driving around in Hollywood searching for an office space. Eventually I found the great space as well as this wonderful place.

Actually, the first time I walked in was to get more quarters for the meter but figured I may as well buy coffee and walked around the neighborhood. When I was in line, lo and behold, I saw the meter cop writing out a ticket, I quickly asked for a quarter and ran out but too late, he had already punched in the info into his swanky new gadget, yah good for you. So, I left the ticket on the window shield, walked back in to buy the coffee and the owner had seen what occured and gave me a free muffin, score!

At first glance, on one side of the wall, there are racks filled with magazines and newspapers that one can pick up and read while sipping your beverage, the ‘honor’ system applies here and for the most part, patrons have abided by the rules. Pricewise, it is on the steeper side, but equally as expensive as Starbucks or Peet’s.

Aside from the organic coffees and teas, they also offer croissants, muffins, madelines as well as sandwiches, salads, some breakfast foods, variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Again, the prices are a bit steep about $10 for sandwiches or salads but it comes with salad or sourdough bread. You can also opt for their 1/2 soup,1/2 sandwich or salad combo for less than $10 and it is still filling.

My favorite coffee drink is the Hollywood Latte, why because condensed milk is added, yumm. My tea drink is the Wild Berry Plum Ice Tea. For lunch, it’s the Chicken Curry Salad or Sandwich and or the Chinese Tofu Salad, you can also substitute chicken to the salad. Make sure to buy the Rusty’s Chips, they are the best chips hands down.

I also like the fact that 2 out of the 5 baristas know my name and when I get lazy I call them and have my order delivered and they’re pretty quick too.

This is where I usually meet with people first before walking them up to my office and it’s a place where people hold interviews and casual business meetings.
