Arnies is open; they never closed
I’m not sure why Arnies is listed as closed here. The only times they have closed is due to bad weather.
The food is great. Their half price bottles of wine specials are nice too. We had a bottle of 14 Hands Chardonnay for $14 with an order of Penn Cove Mussels.

Penn Cove Mussels
Big mussels in a garlic butter sauce. They look and taste like very large clams. If you like clams and butter, this dish is the one to order. I would recommend ordering some bread with it. The happy hour price on this was $10.50.

Like others have said before this is a good reason to hea...
Like others have said before this is a good reason to head into Mukilteo. They have a great happy hour downstairs in the bar and if you’re a little hungrier definitely try the main dining room upstairs.
The wait staff is super friendly and helpful in both sections and instead of coloring for the kids they offer Etch a Sketches to play with at the table.
The food is wonderful, I hear great things about the clam chowder (although not something I’d eat) and the crab cakes are to die for. The Godiva chocolate mousse is something I order every time it’s available because it’s so decadent.
All in al it’s one of my favorite places around, the view is gorgeous and try to get a upper booth, more space and a great view of the water.

Great Price for the View, Food and Drinks
Unless you live in Mukilteo, work at Boeing or are taking the ferry to Widbey Island there’s not much reason to make the drive in to Mukilteo. There may however be another reason…Arnies Restaurant.
A small group of us decided to meet at Arnies before going over to Widbey Island for the weekend. We met in the bar for Happy Hour.
What a great place. It was small, the bar on one side with a row of tables along the windows on the other. The view was stunning and the place packed. After a few drinks and apps we decided to stay for dinner and went upstairs. Our server was super friendly and told us about their early dinner specials. What a deal! For just under $17 bucks I got a bowl of Clam Chowder, Cashew Ling Cod and Chocolate Mousse. All the food was great but the ling cod was outstanding.
After three and half hours of eating, drinking and being merry we got our bills which they were kind enough to split. This turned out to be the best part. For less than $35 bucks I had had, a few drinks and apps downstairs and a three course dinner with a glass of wine upstairs.
This won’t be the last time I make the drive up to Mukilteo to eat at Arnies.
Dishes Tried:
Cashew Crusted Ling Cod
I loved this dish. Breaded lightly and coated with crushed cashews, pan fried golden brown served with tartar sauce. I know this sounds like another version of traditional fish and chips but it is not. It is very moist, flavorful and has a nice crunch from the cashews

Go somewhere else for Seafood
On a recommendation from a co-worker, I went to Arnies with some out of town guests who wanted to go out for seafood. The food was awful:
- the clams in my clam chowder were gritty
- the salmon seemed like it was frozen, not fresh and and it was mediocre at best
- the mashed potatoes & veg were covered up with garlic (even too much for this garlic lover)
- the ginger jasmine rice didn’t have any ginger in it
- the Manny’s Pale Ale tasted old (Mac & Jacks on the other hand was good)
The service was awful:
- Long wait for server to take beverage order
- 15+ min to get beverages to us (beer & a bottled soda)
- very long wait between salad/soup and entree
- they mixed up the order for our guest that needed to not have garlic on her plate and the solution was to stand at the table and have the guests swap food on their plates
- my guest had to go find the server to get the check after waiting a good 15 – 20 minutes
- we had to have them correct the bill
The location in Mukilteo looks over the ferry line parking lot. I had the impression that both locations were right on the water. At night, all you see is blacktop as you look out.
There is nothing that would get me to return to this place. I can’t believe they are still in business.
Dishes Tried:
Cedar Planked Wild Alaskan Salmon
Bland, beurre blanc was meh, couldn’t taste any sign of cedar from being planked, salmon was warm not hot.
