Made To Order
I often eat at Mixed Grill because they make whatever I need when I just describe it. They have salads you can just name what you want in them, sauteed spinach and garlic that is excellent, and they give you pita and yogurt dip or hummus when you walk in as an appetizer, no charge. They have a variety of creative wraps and salads, not your standard fare. You can also get the traditional Greek salad and gyro. Even though the veggie stack was supposed to be cold, they never have any problem heating it up for me. They have unusual diet drinks available like varous typesof snapple iced tea – raspberry, peach, etc.
I like their Veggie burger, but the chicken is also good. One of my friends loves the buffalo chicken chnks with wasabi dressing over salad. My husband likes the traditional burgers with a Greek salad.
If it is Sunday afternoon, you will find me there, with a group of regulars. What a treat. And the lemon soup is my favorite way to start the meal.

Descended into garbage
The Mixed Grill’s been around for far longer than my parents have been in West Hills… so at least 8 years. It used to be a good solid Greek cuisine, but that was then…
I/we love Greek food and The Mixed Grill is just about the only game in town. About three months ago, we went there for sit-down service…the meal was drab and disappointing; ok, so they had a bad night. About a week or so later, we did take-away…again, it was soggy and tastless…the only good part was the baklava, which isn’t prepared properly, but, hey, after eating dog food, the gum from under your shoe at least has some flavor.
The last straw was two weeks ago. With company visiting, we called for delivery (which is my fault for not remembering how bad this food has become). Three gyros later consisting of grey meat that had the consistency and flavor of wet, warm cardboard…that was it. While the greens were fresh, the meal was a few steps below airline food and I declared, and I cannot remember the last time I’ve stated this, “this was the worst meal of my life”.
Do not eat here. I really hate to see anyone go out of business, but based on the food here….everyone needs to go. The Mixed Grill is in desparate need of a visit from Chef Ramsay or any executive chef willing to give advise.

The lettuce is fresh, the tomatos are fine, the meat is bland, tasteless, wet cardboard…. you are better off going to a dinner where the ‘gyro meat’ are just sausages cut lengthwise.

Great Food Needs Attitude Adjustment
Would give it 4-5 stars if not for the wait staff. The big heavy waiter is very unpleasant and you feel uncomfortable asking for anything. My friends and I look to see if he is there before we go in otherwise we go next store for Italian food. Also during the summer he sweats profusely wiping his forhead with his hand and then touches your plates. It is totally gross. With a better attitude and training this place would double in business in a short time. One of the best Salad Dressings I have ever had.

terrible
This restaurant may look good from the outside, but the staff is obnoxious and greedy. Apparently they don’t treat their younger staff with respect. They recycle “untouched” pita bread that they serve on the table. When I ordered a salad, the lettuce tasted un-clean, and dirty. Some parts looked old. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I gave it a 2nd, and 3rd try because it’s been open for years, and thought that some people must like it, but I don’t know why it hasn’t closed down. It’s truly a disgrace to the restaurant industry.

Great place to Eat Any Time with Anyone!!!
We (the three Girls) eat at The Mix Grill every time we go shopping to Century 21 department store or to IKEA, and we always stop to eat at the Mix Grill where the friendly staff greets you as soon as you come in. We live in Oceanside and go out of our way to eat at the Mixed Grill. The décor and atmosphere is warm and inviting, and delicious Mediterranean FOOD awaits for you after all day of shopping!!! The various foods can be customized to your taste, like creating your own salads by choosing your favorite ingredients like candied walnuts, cherries, gorgonzola cheese etc… all mixed together with your favorite dressing to create a scrumptious delight! My teenage daughter loves their salads especially their Greek Salad with their signature dressing a roasted red pepper vinaigrette that is to die for… …A MUST! Our favorite Appetizers; Mozzarella Sticks with Marinara sauce, Zucchini Sticks, , Humus, Dolmades, Spinach Pie (one of my personal favorites)– simply delicious wow :) If you are a soup lover like us try their soup which is homemade – the Chicken Lemon Soup!
For the Meat Lovers like us the main entree we’ve tried …the Max Burger, Souvlaki Platter, and the Mix Grill Platter – has everything your hungry heart desires even breaded shrimp!!! To end a perfect meal we love the fresh baked dessert Baklava. With these choices you can’t go wrong – just impossibly delicious!!! This place is warm, friendly to all and accommodates; single person, couples, groups, family + Kids!!! Great place to Eat Any Time!!!
