I like food a wee bit too much...

Chama River Brewing Company

 4939 Pan American Freeway
Albuquerque, NM

Used to be Blue Corn

I was sad when they turned this place into Chama River cause I liked Blue Corn. But then I had their bbq burger and their steaks and I was hooked. It’s kind of fancy looking, but its a cool place and they do brew their own beer. They sell growlers of their beers for a small charge. I like pretty much everything they brew. My favorite is their Sleepy Hollow Pumpkin Ale, its got flavors going left and right. Their sweet potato fries are also another fave. Their lunch and dinner menus are really different though, that’s one thing I don’t like that much. The burger I like is a lunch only item.

California Pizza Kitchen

Albuquerque, NM

So glad they put this here

It’s not the traditional pizza that most people probably like. It’s a cool place to go for something different than the usual pizza places. I like all the different topping combos. The only thing is that the staff can be kind of rude. I like the BBQ chicken and white pizzas. Good flavors that you wouldnt think go together. Don’t go on Saturdays cause they are really busy and it seems like the food isnt as good.

Tucanos Brazilian Grill

 110 Central Ave SW
Albuquerque, NM

Meat lovers dream!

At $20 per person it’s kind of hard to get to Tucanos real often. But it sure is a treat when you do get there. The meat variety alone is worth going. Add in the salad and buffet of other foods and its a sweet deal. The filet mignon is one of my favorites, just so tender. I also like the chicken hearts, don’t know why. When its busy it can be hard to get the waiters to come by, but the food is constantly coming so thats not a bad thing. Try everything they have at least once, its very worth it. Then pick your favorites.

Rudy's Country Store and Bar-B-Q

 2321 Carlisle Blvd NE
Albuquerque, NM

Man's best friend...

Mouth waters just thinking of going to Rudy’s. Who can argue with a protein fest like this? I love BBQ and Rudy’s knows how to BBQ. I like their brisket best, the lean brisket if I’ve been pigging out too much lately. The baked potatos are so good, all the junk they top it with makes it great. Ate there for lunch today, excellent choice. Had the ribs which always require a load of napkins. And the sauce they make. I buy it and use it at home its that good.

Brisket

Never dry or tough

Pork Ribs

Juicy and good.

Sandiago's Mexican Grill at the Tram

 38 Tramway Rd NE
Albuquerque, NM

A little out of my league

Not the kind of place you’d see a tattooed guy like me at. I get stares everytime I go here, even from the staff. They have good margaritas. The one good thing and probably the only reason I keep going back is they have this steak that is stuffed with some kind of chile. Probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Worth trying it if you like steak.

Grandma's K & I Diner

 2500 Broadway Blvd SE
Albuquerque, NM

Hole in the wall excellence

The K&I is in a part of town where there is not other restaurants. Been going there since I was a kid. The Travis is their biggest special and by big I mean huge. One Travis will feed four people or that guy from Man vs Food. I always eat their bacon cheeseburger with green chile. Their fries are good. Only bad thing is they close at like 2:30 in the afternoon.

Boston's The Gourmet Pizza

 4300 The 25 Way
Albuquerque, NM

They should have built Uno's instead

Just another place to get pizza…but not good pizza. i’m a guy, of course i like pizza. But I won’t go to Bostons anymore because I can think of about 10 other places in town to get better pizza. Their pizza tastes like cardboard, they dont have that great of a beer selection and they don’t have specials. They sometimes have fights on or something cool to watch but their food makes it hard to enjoy the place. Everything is cookie cutter…just not good.
