Another Great Experience At Collectors Cafe

Although Leslie and I have been to Collectors many times over the years, we are never disappointed. We were among their first customers about fifteen years ago when they opened the doors for business but we haven’t been there for about a year. The atmosphere is always welcoming and inviting. Collectors is a small eatery and has always maintained that small, intimate and almost casual feeling. We like to be seated in their grill room where we can see the action from the open kitchen area. My sister and her husband joined us and we all shared the warm goat cheese appetizer. It was served with roasted tomato strips, herbs, garlic cloves and brochette to spread this wonderful concoction on. Leslie and my sister both had the petit filet topped with a mixture of crab and asparagus and they both commented that it was excelled and as good as it gets. Frank, my brother in law, said his roasted lamb rack with sweet pepper and olive oil salsa, was perfectly prepared and he loved it. I had the evening feature of grilled halibut server on a bed of cuscus with tiny currents and a corn relish. The fish was grilled just right and was moist really tasty. I wish I had another plate in front of me as a wright this review. We again shared a plate of coconut cake that was tall, rich and the perfect ending to a great meal. Chef Carlos McGrigor is still on top of his game. Collectors Cafe is a great restaurant and I wish that my recession shrunk income and budget allowed me to go there more often. Thank you Carlos, Tom and Leslie.
